Atlas Copco is now looking for an experienced Strategic Category Buyer to the category teams Electronics and Electromechanics within our business area Industrial Technique.  These are categories important for and growing with the business area’s products and solutions for the smart factories.

About the Role
You will be a member of the global, category managed, strategic sourcing team, responsible for the supplier selection process and to manage, develop and optimize the QDCP-values (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Product development) for suppliers delivering to our plants and central warehouse. This is a key role to secure performance from our external suppliers to reach internal targets and our customers’ requirements. 

The role reports to the Global Category Manager and you will be part of a team of sourcing professionals working tightly together both with strategic plans and daily operations. 

As a Strategic Category Buyer responsibilities are including - but not limited to - the following
Be the commercial owner in the Supplier relationship, managing the supplier strategies, leading the SRM process and the cross functional team to continuous improvements in quality, delivery and total cost
Commercial agreements with Suppliers and to develop and update price models
Lead sourcing and TCO / Value engineering projects with cross functional team members to optimize customer value from sourced products and services through the product life cycle
Proactively work with risks within your supplier base, reduce the number of risk suppliers, set up contingency and risk mitigation plans and build partnership in critical technologies
RFQ, supplier selection and qualification process with a cross functional mindset and with the future requirements on the supplier base in mind
Secure early integration of the supplier base in new product development to safeguard cost engineering plans
Experience requirements
Ideally, you have a university degree from a technical field and at least 3 years’ experience from a similar position in an industrial company. 

You are a strong negotiator with experience from cross functional collaborations and commercial partnerships. Understanding of quality, logistics, lean and various manufacturing processes is an advantage as well as experience of SAP.

As you will be working on an international arena, your English must be excellent, written and spoken alike. 

You have a economical knowledge specialized for commercial company relationships and transactions.

Knowledge about Electronics production and the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry or sourcing of batteries and cables is an advantage.

Personality requirements
You are analytical, have a structured approach and can create business results in a complex environment. 

You are a natural communicator and networker who easily creates trust & long-term relationships, internal and external. 

Given the nature of the role and our business area, you also need a solid technical interest, a strong commercial mindset and a positive attitude. 

Other than that, you have a strong inner drive and the ability to take action and ownership of the tasks at hand. Always maintaining focus on results and with the know-how to deliver value to our company. You are able to work individually as well as within a global team with the highest standards.
