Battery Project Manager

    This vacant role is about being in the absolute center of electrification as the leader of battery projects with high complexity.  Employment is with Husqvarna AB in Sweden and you will be positioned in Huskvarna.

    About the team

    The Husqvarna Battery Competence Center (BCC) is a battery development expert team serving the Husqvarna Group with battery and charger solutions. The team is located in four sites, both in Germany and Sweden making the team international.

    With a diverse configuration of roles in the BCC team, an innovative and dynamic atmosphere is created. Some roles needed in projects are outside the BCC core team which requires maintaining a good stakeholder network in the organization.

    Generally, as the team is small but a full-fledged vertically integrated battery design and industrialization team, any member of the team is expected to step outside the role and help colleagues in their respective domains. This is also a great opportunity to learn all aspects of battery design and deployment and to influence how we in the BCC operates, both internally and externally.

    Role description

    The person we are looking for will be responsible for assuring the progress of our battery development projects. The tasks cover all knowledge areas and your focus will shift between different functions and levels of detail throughout the project.

    In detail:

    • Plan and lead all high-level activities throughout the projects from initiation to closure, typically one year after launch.
    • Report status formulate recommendations and seek decisions from the Steering Committee.
    • Work proactively with all relevant stakeholders, make sure the necessary communication flows freely.
    • Formulate and manage solutions to deviations of scope together with your team

     

    The project manager will report to BCC Project and portfolio manager who in turn is reporting to the head of BCC.

     

    Job Requirements/skills

    This is a role that will suit anyone who is aspiring to approach and ultimately master the heart in the electrification journey that the world has embarked on – the battery. Interest in battery technology is advantageous. Further, what is essential is the willingness to learn – this is one of Husqvarna groups most dynamic environment, both from a technology perspective and from an organizational perspective.

     

    Skills:

    • BSc in relevant area
    • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience from all project phases including managing teams, planning, budgeting, financial follow-up, risk management etc.
    • You have previous experience of managing cross functional projects, preferably within battery development, with a proven strong track record.
    • English fluency in both writing and speaking is a must, speaking/reading Swedish or German is an advantage.
    • You are expected to travel to other Husqvarna and BCC sites and to suppliers.
    • This is a role that requires physical presence in the offices of the BCC but most routine work can be done off-site.
    • PMI/PMP certification is a plus

    • You are analytical and can boil down complex issues to the essentials
    • You are organized, thorough and reliable with the ability to regularly shift focus from a detailed- to high level-view.
    • Excellent in communication skills and stakeholder management
    • Excellent in structuring the work and understanding the benefit of information accuracy
